Built in the year 1994, Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple HERE, occupies an area of 16 acres. Its vast and peaceful compound comprises a main shrine that houses a giant Buddha statue, Waterdrop Teahouse, Garden, Sutra Calligraphy hall, the Dong Zen Institute of Buddhist Studies, Art Gallery, exhibition halls that contain artifacts and relics, meditation and dining halls and a vegetarian restaurant.

This temple is also well-known for its elaborate lantern and flora festival, a kaleidoscope of digital lights, lanterns and flotillas that illuminate the temple grounds during the annual Chinese New Year celebrations, which will last for 15 days, till Chap Goh Meh.
